Goygol:One of the primary goals for Azerbaijan, Georgia, and T¼rkiye is to streamline transit procedures, reduce waiting times at border crossings, and establish the necessary infrastructure to support trade and transit processes through the adoption of international standards. This was stated by T¼rkiye's Deputy Minister of Trade, Sezai U§armak, during the 5th meeting of the Trilateral Committee on Customs Issues held in the Goygol district.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Sezai U§armak emphasized the strategic importance of these three countries in international transit and East-West trade. The meeting, which involved the heads of customs administrations, focused on simplifying transit processes and enhancing infrastructure to increase efficiency and create new investment opportunities.

Significant investments in road, railway, and maritime transport infrastructure are underway in Azerbaijan, Georgia, and T¼rkiye. U§armak noted the visible development in these areas, particularly in road infrastructure during his visits to Georgia.

He highlighted that the current low transit capacity along the Middle Corridor could be significantly increased through further infrastructure development and harmonization of procedures. This improvement would not only boost transportation but also attract new investments, as trade can generate additional economic value when goods are processed and transformed.

U§armak pointed out that improving the investment environment and facilitating the crossing of the Caspian Sea are crucial for attracting global investors. He stressed the need for profitability and opportunity to encourage investment, advocating for a cooperative approach that benefits all involved countries.
