Slovak President Highlights Azerbaijan’s Strategic Importance in Region

Baku: "Azerbaijan is one of the key countries in this region," declared President of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini during a joint press statement with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, as reported by APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Pellegrini emphasized the depth of the relationship between Slovakia and Azerbaijan, describing it as more than just formal diplomatic ties. He characterized the partnership as a genuine friendship, which is being actively translated into concrete projects and real cooperation. Highlighting the significance of the visit, President Pellegrini noted that distinguished members of the Slovak government were part of his delegation, ready to engage in discussions with their Azerbaijani counterparts on various issues.

President Pellegrini also pointed out the presence of governors from the central banks and ministers from both countries, indicating the importance of the dialogues set to take place. He expressed gratitude to President Aliyev for the open and sincere dialogue that exists between the two nations' leaders, stating that such openness is crucial for building relations between friendly states.

The Slovak President reiterated Slovakia's pragmatic foreign policy approach, aiming to establish partnerships and friendships across all global regions. He expressed satisfaction that Azerbaijan is counted among Slovakia's friendly countries. Highlighting Azerbaijan's strategic importance, President Pellegrini described it as a guarantor of stability and development in the region, as well as a pivotal hub for logistics and transport routes connecting East and West.
