Baku: SOCAR is embarking on a mission to discover new oil and gas reserves in the Caspian Sea, focusing on deep and shallow layers that have not been sufficiently explored. This announcement was made by Arzu Javadova, Vice President of SOCAR, during the 'Upstream Sector - New Horizons' session at the Baku Energy Forum.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the company is actively pursuing exploration activities in promising structures located in the Middle Caspian and South Caspian basins. Arzu Javadova emphasized that SOCAR is broadening its exploration efforts beyond traditional productive reservoirs.
Javadova highlighted that SOCAR is targeting not only conventional reservoirs but is also keen on exploring deeper horizons and inadequately explored shallow layers. This strategy is part of the company's ongoing efforts to expand its exploration capabilities.
The SOCAR official also mentioned that several projects in the Middle Caspian have progressed to more advanced stages of development. Among these, the 'Goshadash' structure is nearing the drilling phase, marking a significant milestone in SOCAR's exploration activities.
Arzu Javadova reiterated SOCAR's commitment to expanding exploration opportunities in the Caspian Sea while seeking to attract potential partners to collaborate on these projects.
