Bucharest: SOCAR, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, has expanded its presence in Romania by opening three new fuel stations under the SOCAR brand. The openings took place on December 31, coinciding with the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day and the New Year. These new stations are located in the Salaj, Suceava, and Satu Mare regions, bringing the total number of SOCAR fuel stations in Romania to 91.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, SOCAR's Romanian subsidiary, SOCAR Petroleum SA, was responsible for commissioning the new stations. Ramin Aliyev, the Chief Operating Officer at SOCAR Petroleum SA, highlighted the company's commitment to growing its network in Romania. Aliyev noted that 2025 was a productive year, with the company surpassing its initial goal of opening nine new stations, achieving a total of 14 instead.

The new SOCAR-branded stations offer a variety of fuel options, including Nano 95 and Nano 98 gasoline, as well as Nano Diesel and Nano Super Diesel. Additionally, the stations feature 'Nar' caf©s, where customers can purchase both local products and imported goods from Azerbaijan. In support of the 'Made in Azerbaijan' initiative, Azerbaijan corners have been established at these stations, showcasing video materials to promote the country.

SOCAR's current operations in Romania include 10 fuel stations in the Suceava region, three in Salaj, and two in Satu Mare. Across Romania, SOCAR operates a total of 91 stations in 30 of the country's 41 regions. The company has ambitious plans for 2026, aiming to exceed 100 stations and strengthen its position in the Romanian fuel market.
