Baku: SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf met with Sevinj Mammadova, Associate Provost of George Washington University, on September 16 to discuss their ongoing collaboration and future opportunities.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting highlighted the satisfaction of both parties with the progress made since the signing of a Letter of Intent on Cooperation during Baku Energy Week earlier this year. This agreement has paved the way for new partnership opportunities between SOCAR and George Washington University, with discussions focusing on the implementation of the agreed initiatives.

During the meeting, SOCAR representatives provided an overview of the company's global expansion strategy, emphasizing the projects underway in Azerbaijan and internationally. The achievements in digitalization and the integration of artificial intelligence solutions within SOCAR's operations were underscored, with a special mention of the Carbamide Plant's inclusion in the World Economic Forum's Global Lighthouse Network.

The collaboration between SOCAR's Baku Higher Oil School and George Washington University in training highly qualified professionals was also emphasized. The delegation from George Washington University expressed their appreciation for the facilities and conditions at the Baku Higher Oil School, reinforcing the mutual interest in expanding this educational partnership.

The dialogue also covered potential areas of cooperation on joint projects, including the development of educational programs, academic research, and capacity building. Both parties expressed a keen interest in exploring these areas to further strengthen their partnership.
