Baku: SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf recently held a meeting with Charles Cormier, the World Bank's Regional Director for Infrastructure in Europe and Central Asia. The discussion centered on the fruitful collaboration between SOCAR and the World Bank, focusing on strategic projects like the Southern Gas Corridor, which plays a crucial role in enhancing Europe's energy security. Additionally, SOCAR's active involvement in the World Bank's 'Zero Routine Flaring by 2030' initiative was acknowledged.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting also covered SOCAR's global expansion strategy, highlighting its decarbonization goals and digitalization efforts. An important development mentioned was the admission of the SOCAR Carbamide plant into the Global Lighthouse Network of the World Economic Forum.
The dialogue further explored potential avenues for future cooperation, emphasizing a just energy transition, the economic efficiency of energy resources, and the development of green energy corridors. These discussions underscored the mutual interests of both parties in advancing sustainable energy solutions.
