BAKU: The State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) has reported earnings of $6.4 billion from its stock portfolio, reflecting significant growth since its inception through September 30 of this year.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, SOFAZ has invested a total of $7.1 billion in the “MSCI World” index, which serves as the primary benchmark for its stock portfolio. The portfolio has achieved a profitability rate of 253%, increasing its current value to $13.5 billion.
The stock portfolio of SOFAZ is diversified across shares of 1,410 companies spanning 11 sectors in 23 developed countries, as indicated by the “MSCI World” index. The total market capitalization of these shares is approximately $77 trillion.
