Baku: For the first time, citizens of the Federal Republic of Somalia have gained the right to study in Azerbaijan within the framework of the Intergovernmental Scholarship Programs, State Agency for Science and Higher Education told APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, in the 2025-2026 academic year, 20 Somali citizens will study at leading higher education institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This opportunity is based on the “Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Education between the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Higher Education of the Federal Republic of Somalia”.

It should be noted that the students have already arrived in Azerbaijan and were met by representatives of the universities at the airport.
