Mogadishu: Somalia has expressed its gratitude to Azerbaijan for its support of Somalia's territorial integrity, APA reports. Ahmed Gaashaan, deputy director of the communications department at the Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs, conveyed this appreciation through a post on his X account.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Gaashaan stated, "We acknowledge with respect the position of Azerbaijan in support of the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia. This stance reflects Azerbaijan's commitment to the principles of international law and the preservation of recognized statehood."

The acknowledgment from Somalia comes after the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its support for the territorial integrity of Somalia, following Israel's official recognition of Somaliland.
