Somalia’s First Resident Ambassador Seeks to Strengthen Ties with Azerbaijan

Baku: Somalia's newly appointed Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Abdinur Dahir Fidow, has presented a copy of his credentials to Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. The meeting marks a significant step in diplomatic relations between the two nations.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Foreign Minister Bayramov congratulated Ambassador Fidow on his appointment and expressed optimism about the ambassador's role in enhancing the bilateral relationship. The meeting emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation across various sectors, including political, economic, and humanitarian fields.

Both parties appreciated the recent increase in diplomatic engagement and reciprocal visits. They highlighted the necessity of utilizing existing opportunities to foster collaboration in areas such as agriculture and energy. The discussion also covered the importance of cooperation on international and regional platforms, particularly within the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement.
