South African Mayor Praises Azerbaijan’s Urbanization Progress at UN Forum

Baku: The 13th Session of the United Nations World Urban Forum (WUF13), hosted in Baku, has been recognized as a significant event by participants from around the globe. Mluleki Nelson Nkosi, the Executive Mayor of the Lesedi Local Municipality in South Africa's Gauteng Province, and a representative of the South African Local Government Association, emphasized the importance of this prestigious international gathering.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Nkosi expressed gratitude towards Azerbaijan for organizing the forum. The event brings together various cities worldwide to exchange knowledge on urbanization, sustainable construction, and the development of human settlements. Nkosi highlighted Azerbaijan's 'smart city' and 'smart village' projects as exemplary models in the field of urbanization.

Nkosi mentioned the collaborative efforts made during the forum, including drafting joint resolutions and declarations aimed at enhancing city development. He acknowledged Azerbaijan as one of the developed countries in urbanization and expressed a desire to learn from their practices while sharing South Africa's experiences with other nations.
