According to Azeri-Press news agency, as FIFA announced in December, the largest World Cup in history also features the biggest prize pool ever awarded in the tournament. A total of $655 million will be distributed among the 48 participating teams, with payouts ranging from $9 million to $50 million, depending on how far each national team advanced.
England earned $29 million after defeating France 6-4 in Saturday's third-place playoff, while France received $27 million for finishing fourth.
