Baku: Reports circulating on social media about compensation for privatization vouchers are false, according to a joint statement by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Media Development Agency (MEDIA). These messages falsely state that registration is underway and urge citizens to contact specific mobile phone numbers.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the announcements are intentionally misleading and lack any factual basis. Citizens are strongly encouraged to ignore these fraudulent claims. Under no circumstances should they contact unknown phone numbers, make payments, or disclose personal and financial information-including bank card details, identity numbers, and SMS verification codes.

An investigation into this misinformation is currently underway.
