London:The Spanish national football team secured a 3-2 victory against England in their opening match of the Nations League group stage at Wembley Stadium.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the goals for Spain were scored by Lamin Yamal in the 2nd minute, Alex Baena in the 60th minute, and Mikel Oyarzabal in the 74th minute. England's goals came from Anthony Gordon in the 36th minute and Harry Kane in the 40th minute, with Kane missing a penalty in the 54th minute.

Both teams are competing in Group 3 of the Nations League Elite Division. In another group match, Croatia overcame the Czech Republic 2-1. Upcoming matches on September 29 will see Spain hosting Croatia and England facing the Czechs away.

Additionally, in Group 1 of League B, Switzerland defeated North Macedonia 3-0, and Scotland drew 0-0 with Slovenia. In League C's Group 1, Finland crushed San Marino 7-0, while Albania beat Belarus 2-0. Slovakia won 2-0 against Moldova in Group 3, with the Faroe Islands and Kazakhstan drawing 1-1. Luxembourg achieved a 2-1 victory over Bulgaria in Group 4, and Iceland tied 1-1 with Estonia.
