Speaker of Milli Majlis Highlights Azerbaijan’s Role in Intercultural Dialogue

Manama: Azerbaijan continues to play a significant role in promoting intercultural dialogue on the global stage, stated Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis, during her address at the 16th Plenary Session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) in Bahrain's capital.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Gafarova highlighted Azerbaijan's commitment to fostering intercultural dialogue through hosting events such as the Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), the Global Baku Forum, and the Global Summit of Religious Leaders. She emphasized that these platforms serve as crucial avenues for promoting mutual understanding and cooperation among different cultures and religions.

Gafarova also underscored the significance of the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, organized under the 'Baku Process' initiated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. This forum is recognized by the United Nations as a vital global platform for intercultural and interreligious dialogue. She pointed out that the Interparliamentary Conference, part of the 6th Forum held in May 2024, introduced a 'parliamentary dimension' to this ongoing dialogue, further solidifying Azerbaijan's role as a trusted partner in this field.
