Special Representative of the President Highlights Aghdam’s Transformation at Global Event

Aghdam: Emin Huseynov, Special Representative of the President in Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend districts, outlined significant developments in Aghdam at the 'From Urbicide to Revival: Sustainable Reconstruction, Resettlement and Development in Azerbaijan's Liberated Territories' event, part of the WUF13. Huseynov emphasized the critical role of mine clearance and the establishment of electrical systems in the region's transformation.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Huseynov addressed the ongoing threat posed by mines, stressing that safety must remain a priority as the region continues to deal with this issue for years to come. He also highlighted the desecration of cultural heritage sites during the occupation, such as the Aghdam Juma Mosque and the Imarat Complex, which have since been restored to preserve their historical significance.

Huseynov noted Aghdam's dramatic transformation since its liberation, referencing its prior descriptions as the 'Hiroshima of the Caucasus' and the 'Ghost City.' Within five years, the city has begun to develop a new image, symbolizing its rebirth and the broader efforts to revive Azerbaijan's liberated territories.
