State Commission Uncovers Torture Evidence in Azerbaijan Mass Grave

Karabakh: Signs of torture have been discovered on remains found in a mass grave, according to Eldar Samadov, Deputy Head of the Working Group of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages, and Missing Persons. Samadov made this revelation to journalists, as reported by APA’s Karabakh bureau.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Azerbaijan has persistently inquired with Armenia through international channels about the fate of citizens who disappeared during the Khojaly genocide and Armenia’s aggression against Azerbaijan. Samadov highlighted that the newly uncovered remains exhibit visible signs of violence, including injuries from blunt objects on leg, arm, and skull bones. Traces of torture are apparent, and the clothing found with the remains suggests they belonged to civilians, with experts believing that many of the victims were women.

Samadov also mentioned that excavations are ongoing, with the possibility of discovering more remains in the deeper layers of the site.
