KUWAIT CITY: It is considered beneficial to attract Kuwaiti investments to Tajikistan to establish the export of agricultural products and drinking water to Kuwait, Trend reports. This was discussed during a meeting between Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sabah Al Khalid Al Sabah.

According to Trend News Agency, the discussion emphasized the continuous focus on developing stronger ties between Tajikistan and Kuwait. President Rahmon expressed the importance of the relationship with the “friendly and brotherly nation” of Kuwait and highlighted the significant potential for cooperation. Both parties discussed the possibility of implementing joint investment projects across various sectors.

The meeting also saw both sides express interest in organizing cultural events, scientific conferences, and student and faculty exchanges. They also discussed establishing connections between academic institutions in the two countries, which could further strengthen the bilateral relationship.

ionally, President Rahmon welcomed the Kuwaiti government’s decision to open an embassy in Tajikistan, a move announced by the Crown Prince. This development is seen as a step forward in enhancing diplomatic relations.

President Rahmon is currently in Kuwait for an official visit and to participate in the High-Level Conference on ‘Strengthening International Counter-Terrorism Cooperation and Building Agile Border Security Mechanisms – The Kuwait Phase of the Dushanbe Process,’ which is being held in Kuwait City from November 4 through November 5, 2024.
