BAKU: The Government of Azerbaijan has announced the introduction of a ‘COP29 Special Visa’ for individuals registered to attend COP29 through the UNFCCC Online Registration System. This visa is available at no cost to participants, according to Trend News Agency.
According to Trend News Agency, the ‘COP29 Special Visa’ can be procured either through a visa link included in the UNFCCC registration confirmation email sent to participants or by visiting the diplomatic missions and consulates of the Republic of Azerbaijan abroad. For those choosing to apply through diplomatic channels, the UNFCCC registration confirmation email serves as the primary supporting document.
The visa grants a single-entry visit, allowing holders to stay in Azerbaijan for up to 30 days. In the event participants need to leave and return due to pre-sessional meetings or conferences, they must reapply for the visa using their UNFCCC registration number.
All foreign attendees must have a passport valid for at least three months beyond
the visa’s expiration date. The ‘COP29 Special Visa’ is issued within three working days after the submission of a complete application online or at diplomatic missions.
