Dushanbe: Tajikistan’s industrial enterprises manufactured products worth 36.3 billion somoni ($3.4 billion) from January through September 2024, marking a 15.3 percent increase year-on-year. According to Trend News Agency, data from the country’s statistical agency indicates significant growth across various sectors of the industry.

The highest growth was observed in the mining sector, which increased by 35.9 percent. This was followed by the processing sector at 10 percent, electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning at 0.6 percent, and water supply, sewage, waste management, and recycling which saw a 1.7-fold increase.

The Sughd region emerged as the largest industrial center, contributing 56.5 percent to the total industrial production, followed by the Khatlon region with a 23.4 percent share. The number of industrial facilities operating in Tajikistan during this period totaled 3,692, with the Sughd region hosting 1,198 facilities, Khatlon 864, Dushanbe 794, districts of republican subordination 699,
and Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region 137.

In 2023, industrial enterprises in Tajikistan manufactured products valued at over 46.8 billion somoni ($4.3 billion), which was a 12 percent increase from 2022.
