Uzbekistan: Uzbekistan produced 5.3 million tons of coal from January through September 2024. According to Trend News Agency, the country’s statistic agency reported that coal production increased by 20.4 percent year-on-year, climbing from 4.4 million tons during the same period in 2023.

In September 2024 alone, Uzbekistan’s coal output reached 1 million tons, marking an increase from 900,000 tons recorded in August. This growth is part of Uzbekistan’s broader strategy to bolster coal production, with plans to produce eight million tons of coal by the end of the year. The nation has set an ambitious target to increase production to 10 million tons by 2025.

To support these goals, Uzbekistan has implemented measures such as allowing fuel, oil, and coal to pass through customs duty-free for two years. Additionally, the country is offering three-year revolving credits for coal imports. An expected contribution of 900,000 tons from businesses is also part of the plan to achieve this year’s production target.
