Tajikistan’s Emergency Committee and UN WFP Outline 2025 Cooperation Plans

Dushanbe: Chairman of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of Tajikistan, Rajabali Rahmonali, met with Adham Musallam, the head of the UN World Food Program (WFP) in Tajikistan, to discuss future areas of cooperation. The meeting focused on evaluating current synergies in disaster readiness and humanitarian intervention, as well as planning strategic frameworks for cooperative initiatives in late 2025.

According to Trend News Agency, both parties emphasized their commitment to enhancing collaborative efforts aimed at improving food security frameworks and optimizing emergency management protocols in Tajikistan. The discussions highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships to effectively address challenges related to food security and disaster management.

In recent years, the WFP has been actively involved in Tajikistan, providing food assistance, implementing school meal programs, and executing projects to build resilience in rural communities impacted by climate changes and natural disasters. These efforts have been crucial in offering vital support to numerous households and remain a key element of the country’s emergency response strategy.
