Tax and Customs Exemptions Expanded for Economic Activities in Karabakh

Jakarta:Karabakh Seven additional areas of economic activity in the liberated territories of Karabakh have been granted exemptions from taxes and customs duties, as reported by APA-Economics.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the decision to amend the relevant list was made by the Cabinet of Ministers on September 8, 2026. The amendments include exemptions from value-added tax (VAT) and customs duties for machinery, technological equipment, installations, raw materials, and materials imported for use in these sectors.

The newly exempted areas include the production of pharmaceutical products, electricity from renewable energy sources, wine from grapes, and scientific research and development. Additionally, the processing and preservation of meat, poultry, fish, and dairy products, as well as the production of animal feed, livestock farming, fish farming in freshwater bodies, and the sorting and packaging of agricultural products, are now covered by these benefits.

These changes are anticipated to lower investment and production costs for entrepreneurs involved in agriculture, the processing industry, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, and scientific research, thereby encouraging the development of new projects in these fields.

Entrepreneurs interested in taking advantage of these incentives can submit their documentation to the Ministry of Economy either physically or electronically.
