The State Tax Service (STS) under the Ministry of Economy will pay AZN 364,000 ($214,100) to a representative office of “KPMG Azerbaijan Limited” for consultancy services on cybersecurity.

The STS awarded this contract to “KPMG” on 27 December without observing tender procedures, and does not provide information on why such an expensive cyber security service to a non-profile company was needed. “KPMG” is known to be one of the world’s leading finance, audit and tax firms.

The contract expires on 14 April 2023.
