Head of 'KazMunayGas' (KMG) Magzum Mirzagaliyev and Chairman of the Board of Abu Dhabi Ports Group ADP Mohamed Juma Al-Shamisi discussed the activities of the Caspian Integrated Maritime Solutions (CIMS) joint venture. It is noted that last month new oil tankers with a deadweight of 8000 tons were purchased - 'Taraz' and 'Liwa', which will be involved in the transportation of Kazakh oil through the Caspian Sea. "During the meeting, the parties also discussed issues of cooperation on oil transportation in the open seas. Today, the joint tanker pool of 'Kazmortransflot' LLP (KMTF) (a subsidiary of KMG) and ADP consists of 4 vessels. This year, for the first time, a contract for the transportation of Tengiz oil in international waters was signed with Chevron. KMTF and ADP tankers have started transporting cargo under this contract," the report says. By the end of this year, the pool is expected to be replenished with three more ADP tankers - 2 'Aframax' (deadweight 115,000 tons) and 1 'Suezmax' (deadweight 130,000 tons).
