Baku: A comprehensive three-stage water strategy is being implemented in Azerbaijan to address the country’s water resource challenges, as revealed by Jabbar Jabbarli, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the United Water Supply Service of Large Cities under the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency. The announcement was made at the event titled “Water is Clarity,” where it was highlighted that 70% of Azerbaijan’s water resources are sourced from neighboring countries, placing the nation in a water risk group.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Azerbaijani government, under the direction of the President, is taking proactive measures to mitigate these risks. A significant step in this effort is the decree issued in 2024, focusing on the national water strategy. The State Water Resources Agency is executing a structured plan in three stages to enhance the water management system, propose solutions to existing problems, and ensure the provision of clean and high-quality water to the population.
