Baku: By 2027, the transit potential of Kazakh oil through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline is planned to increase up to 7 million tons per year, announced Parviz Shahbazov, the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This statement was made during the 21st meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan held in Baku.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Shahbazov highlighted the successful development of cooperation between the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and Kazakhstan’s KazMunayGaz in the energy sector. This collaboration is pivotal for the transit of Kazakh oil through Azerbaijan’s territory.

Since 2023, a total of 3.4 million tons of Kazakh oil have been transported to the global market via the BTC pipeline, showcasing the growing significance of this route.
