BAKU: Trendyol, a prominent e-commerce platform in Turkey, has partnered with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Office in Azerbaijan to launch a campaign aimed at empowering young girls through education and technology. The initiative, titled “Knowledge is the Key to Empowerment: Keep Learning and Exploring New Horizons!” coincides with the International Day of the Girl Child and seeks to highlight the importance of equal opportunities for girls.
According to Trend News Agency, the campaign’s centerpiece was an event named “Empowering Girls for Sustainable Development,” which gathered over 100 young girls from various regions of Azerbaijan. The event facilitated discussions on the empowerment of girls by leveraging education and technology, featuring insights from women leaders and gender equality advocates. ull potential.
Trendyol has a history of supporting women through various initiatives designed to aid their entry into the labor market and career development. One such initiative, “Villages of Tomorrow,” is conducted in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme, aiming to foster women entrepreneurship by enhancing the reach of local products and crafts. The project also seeks to minimize the digital divide by extending Trendyol’s technological resources to rural areas, thereby stimulating employment and rural development.
Further, Trendyol’s “Future is Women” and “Strong Women Program” continue to bolster women’s entrepreneurial activities, ensuring improved opportunities for women. The company is also working with partners to enhance green business and eco-leadership skills among women entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan.
