Baku: Economic integration among Turkic states must be strengthened, Deputy Chairman of Trkiye's Justice and Development Party (AK Party) Krsad Zorlu told journalists in Baku, APA reports. Krsad Zorlu stated that global vulnerabilities are increasing and countries are facing a number of geopolitical risks.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, regional integration projects are of particular importance in such a period. Zorlu emphasized that economic integration among Turkic states is crucial not only for regional cooperation but also for global trade. He highlighted that the combined gross domestic product of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States has reached $2.4 trillion, positioning the organization as an important player in the global economy.

The AK Party deputy chairman particularly emphasized the significance of the Middle Corridor and Trkiye's intention to further develop this project. Zorlu also discussed the Development Road Project planned with Iraq, and the potential of the Hejaz Railway Project through Syria to connect the Middle Corridor with the Southern Corridor.

Krsad Zorlu recalled the upcoming 13th Summit of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States, set to be held in Ankara. He mentioned that Trkiye is making intensive preparations for the summit alongside other member states.

Furthermore, Zorlu announced the signing of a Digital Partnership Agreement aimed at increasing trade among Turkic states. He mentioned plans for establishing a common foreign trade platform and introduced Trkiye's project called 'Karvan' for this purpose, stating that proposals from other Turkic states are being considered. Once the digital platform is operational, companies in Turkic states will have the opportunity to present their products in each other's markets and globally.
