Trkiye Maintains Current Customs Duties on Azerbaijani Imports.

Ankara: Trkiye has decided not to increase customs duties on specific products imported from Azerbaijan. This decision was announced in an official decree by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as reported in the Resmi Gazete and relayed by APA’s Trkiye correspondent.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the decree aims to bolster local production’s share in the domestic market by imposing an additional financial obligation ranging from $50 to $400 per ton on certain imports. The products affected include distilled fatty acids, polystyrene, polyethylene compounds, various plastic pipes, stretch film, and sheets made from vinyl chloride polymer. However, this financial obligation applies solely to countries that are not members of the World Trade Organization (WTO), with Azerbaijan being notably exempt from these increased duties.
