Trkiye to Host 4th International Symposium on Coexistence in Islamic Culture

Kilis: Trkiye is set to host the 4th International Symposium on 'The Experience of Coexistence in Islamic Culture', with the event scheduled to take place from May 7-9 in Kilis. This symposium is a collaborative effort by the Azerbaijan Institute of Theology, the Foundation for the Promotion of Spiritual Values, Trkiye's Kilis 7 Aralik University, and Indonesia's Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the symposium will explore three primary themes. The first theme, Society, will examine the concept of coexistence in Islamic culture across different societies and will highlight historical figures who have advocated for these practices. The second theme, Education, will delve into methods for fostering a culture of coexistence through educational curricula, active involvement of students and teachers, and interdisciplinary approaches, with a focus on religious moderation within the Indonesian education system. The third theme, Islam, aims to emphasize the unifying aspects of Islam and its various schools of thought, as well as the role of political and doctrinal Islamic traditions in promoting a culture of coexistence.

The symposium organizers have announced that the call for papers remains open until April 30, inviting scholars and practitioners to contribute to the discussions on these critical themes.
