Baku: Truck production in Azerbaijan surged significantly in the first two months of 2023, with a total of 134 trucks manufactured in January and February.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this marks an 11.2-fold increase compared to the same period last year, highlighting a notable expansion in the country's truck manufacturing sector.
In addition to the rise in truck production, the production of passenger cars also experienced growth. During the reporting period, 716 passenger cars were produced, reflecting a 53.3% increase compared to the previous year. This rise in production figures indicates a broader trend of growth in the automotive industry in Azerbaijan.
Furthermore, the import data for motor vehicles shows varied trends. The imports of motor vehicles designed to carry 10 or more people, including the driver, increased by 2.3 times to reach 243 units. However, imports of passenger cars and other motor vehicles primarily intended for transporting people saw a decrease of 31.4%, totaling 10,488 units. Similarly, imports of motor vehicles for cargo transportation declined by 13.4%, amounting to 1,096 units during the reporting period.
