Baku: ‘Azerbaijan’s hosting of the globally significant COP29 conference reflects the country’s growing position and influence on the global stage,’ said Osman Koray Ertas, Turkish Ambassador to the UK, in an interview with AZERTAC. The ambassador highlighted that Azerbaijan’s diplomatic efforts, growing respect, and influence have empowered the country to host this landmark conference.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Ertas described Baku’s role as the host of COP29 as a clear sign of Azerbaijan’s rising authority on both the regional and global levels. “This triumph is the result of diplomatic efforts, understanding, and influence,” he noted.

Ertas emphasized that Trkiye stands in full solidarity with Azerbaijan for the successful hosting of COP29, providing strong support at every stage of the process. “The Azerbaijan-Trkiye brotherhood will also contribute to the success of COP29,” he added.
