Istanbul: Istanbul police conducted an operation this morning, detaining several well-known singers, actors, and actresses, APA reports, citing Sabah newspaper. The detainees include prominent public figures such as Kubilay Aka, Kaan Yildirim, Hadise A§ikg¶z, and others.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the operation is part of an investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office in connection with the crime of ‘use of narcotic or stimulant substances.’ Authorities have issued orders to collect blood samples from the detainees to further the investigation.

Turkish singer Irem Derici has been detained at her residence in Sisli on charges of promoting drug use, APA reports, citing Turkish media. As part of the investigation, the 38-year-old artist was detained by gendarmerie teams at her home in Sisli.

In a statement, the singer’s lawyer Aysegl Mermer expressed that they visited the police station to provide a statement: “We have not yet been given any official information regarding the matter. As the process becomes clearer, the public will be informed.”
