Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has affirmed that Turkey will persist in its diplomatic endeavors to promote peace and security in Sudan. This declaration was made during his interaction with journalists while returning from the Republic of Azerbaijan on Saturday evening.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, Erdogan emphasized Turkey's commitment to playing an active role in Sudan's stability, stating, "We will continue our diplomatic efforts to ensure peace and security in Sudan, and we cannot simply stand by and watch what is happening there." His remarks underscore Turkey's proactive stance amid the ongoing conflict in Sudan.

Since April 2023, Sudan has been embroiled in a brutal conflict between the national army and the Rapid Support Forces. This violent struggle has led to the death of tens of thousands and the displacement of approximately 13 million individuals, highlighting the urgent need for international intervention and support to restore peace in the region.
