Turkmen Minister Visits DOST Center to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Baku: A meeting was held between Azerbaijan's Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Anar Aliyev, and Turkmenistan's Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Mukhammetseyit Sylapov, at the DOST Agency, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population told APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mukhammetseyit Sylapov, who is visiting Azerbaijan, was introduced to the services provided to citizens at Baku DOST Center No. 1. Presentations were made for the Turkmen minister on the DOST Concept and digital services in the social sphere.

Anar Aliyev highlighted that a significant document exchanged today, with the participation of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, was the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two nations' ministries of labor and social protection. This document is expected to expand cooperation by establishing a legal framework for regular dialogue, experience exchange, and implementation of joint projects between the ministries.

The meeting underscored the potential for exchanging experience in modernizing social insurance systems, digitalizing services, and developing professional training and retraining programs. Additionally, opportunities for collaboration in labor protection, social services, employment program development, pension system advancement, and support for vulnerable groups were explored. The newly signed cooperation document is anticipated to facilitate significant progress in these areas.

Furthermore, a draft Agreement on cooperation in the field of pension provision between the governments of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan has been prepared. Mukhammetseyit Sylapov expressed that important steps would continue to enhance bilateral cooperation and that consistent exchanges of experience in social reforms are mutually beneficial.

During the discussions, the role of the Labor Center of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), established in Baku, in fostering cooperation among member states in labor, employment, and social protection was acknowledged. The meeting also reviewed future cooperation issues between the two ministries.
