TBILISI – In a bid to strengthen economic ties, Turkmenistan and Georgia are exploring potential joint ventures in the transport, logistics, and energy sectors, signaling a commitment to deepen bilateral relations and enhance regional connectivity.

According to Trend News Agency, discussions about these cooperative endeavors took place during a meeting between Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Georgia, Dovletmyrat Seyitmammedov, and Georgian Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Guram Guramishvili. The meeting highlighted the ongoing efforts of both nations to expand their economic collaboration through strategic partnerships in critical infrastructure and energy development.

The talks focused particularly on the importance of the Turkmen-Georgian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, which plays a pivotal role in fostering and intensifying the economic interactions between the two countries. Both parties acknowledged the commission’s significance in advancing mutual interests and facilitating dialogue on key economic issues.

During the meeting, the representatives also emphasized the crucial role of transport and transit corridors in bolstering economic ties, supporting industrial growth, energy cooperation, and expanding trade and investment opportunities. Such corridors are vital for enhancing access to new markets and improving the efficiency of cross-border transport of goods and services.

The session concluded with both sides expressing a readiness to engage in further active interactions aimed at not only improving but also expanding the relationship between Turkmenistan and Georgia.
