Turkmenistan Partners with South Korea’s Korea Meditech to Boost Local Medical Supply Production

ASHGABAT: Turkmenistan is set to enhance its medical supply sector by collaborating with South Korean firm Korea Meditech to produce disposable medical products domestically, leveraging local raw materials. This move aims to increase the country’s economic independence and bolster its health sector sustainability.

According to Trend News Agency, the collaboration was revealed during a healthcare exhibition in Ashgabat. Korea Meditech, known for its advanced medical device technology, will assist in establishing production facilities in Turkmenistan to manufacture medical syringes from polypropylene. This partnership marks a significant step towards utilizing Turkmenistan’s local resources, which have been proven high-quality through recent tests conducted by Turkmen specialists. These tests involved the creation of test syringe samples that confirmed the suitability of local raw materials for mass production.

The plan also includes sourcing 60-70 percent of the materials needed from within Turkmenistan itse
lf, reducing reliance on imported goods and advancing the country’s self-sufficiency. Korea Meditech brings over twenty years of experience to the table, positioning itself as a leader in the global medical devices market and an autonomous exporter.
