Turkmenistan Poised to Become Key Player in Regional LNG Market Initiative.

Ashgabat: Turkmenistan is set to play a pivotal role in the establishment of a regional common market for liquefied natural gas (LNG), according to Conan Dai, CEO of Chinese Geo-jade Petroleum. This was announced during a panel session titled “The Future of Turkmenistan’s Natural Gas: New Export Routes and Export Potential” at the 29th “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2024” International Conference and Expo held in Ashgabat.

According to Trend News Agency, Conan Dai emphasized that the creation of a unified LNG market could significantly benefit Turkmenistan, leveraging its vast natural gas reserves. He pointed out that LNG has become an integral part of energy strategies across Asian countries, and this initiative could open new avenues for collaboration between exporting and consuming nations. The development of a common LNG market would not only diversify Turkmenistan’s export routes but also attract necessary investments to modernize its infrastructure.

Furthermore, Dai highlighted that a shared market co

For the initiative to prosper, active collaboration among government agencies, private enterprises, and international organizations is essential. Joint LNG projects and strategic planning will help optimize resources and improve conditions for all market participants. As the demand for clean energy grows, the establishment of a common LNG market could mark a significant step towards sustainable development, benefiting not just Turkmenistan but the entire region.
