Baku: The Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan has issued a call to food wheat producers to finalize their contracts for sowing wheat on plots equipped with modern irrigation systems for the 2025 harvest. The deadline for these contracts is set for November 1, emphasizing the importance of timely action by the farmers.
According to Trend News Agency, the Ministry’s directive aligns with the presidential decree ? 1,754, issued on July 19, 2022, which focuses on enhancing self-sufficiency in food wheat production. This decree has underpinned ongoing measures to reliably organize wheat production, continuing through 2024.
Currently, food wheat sowing has been successfully conducted on 23,765 hectares of subsurface areas across 29 farms, all of which have signed contracts for the 2024 harvest. There are plans to further expand the sowing areas for the next agricultural year, reflecting the country’s commitment to strengthening its agricultural sector and ensuring food security.
