TURKPA Advances Legal Document Enhancements Through Strategic Meetings

Astana: Secretary General of TURKPA, Ambassador Ramil Hasan, engaged in an online meeting with Aigul Kuspan, Chairperson of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan. The meeting focused on supporting Kazakhstan's ongoing constitutional reforms and TURKPA's role in the upcoming referendum.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Ambassador Hasan expressed gratitude to Aigul Kuspan for initiating the meeting and assured full support for Kazakhstan's constitutional reforms. He emphasized the importance of these reforms for both Kazakhstan and the broader Turkic world. TURKPA plans to observe the constitutional referendum in Astana, Almaty, and Turkestan.

During the meeting, Ambassador Hasan reiterated TURKPA's commitment to ensuring transparency in the referendum process under Kazakhstan's Chairmanship. He also shared details of TURKPA's recent visit to Vienna for the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Winter Meeting, where discussions with Turkic States delegations led to TURKPA's successful application for observer status at the OSCE PA, with support from Kazakhstan.

Aigul Kuspan updated Ambassador Hasan on the new parliamentary system, expressing hope for enhanced accountability and efficiency. She welcomed TURKPA's involvement in the constitutional reform process as part of an international observation mission, highlighting its role in ensuring transparency and credibility.

The meeting also addressed the finalization of legal document improvements for TURKPA during Kazakhstan's Chairmanship. The upcoming informal Meeting of the Heads of TURKPA Member Parliaments in Istanbul was noted as a significant event for fostering interparliamentary dialogue.

The TURKPA International Secretariat was represented by key officials, including Deputy Secretaries General Talgat Aduov and Muhammet Alper Hayali, and others. From the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Deputy Head of the Staff Talgat Kassymbekov and Head of the Sector of the Department of International Relations and Protocol Arai Bekenov participated in the meeting.
