Evacuation of Foreign Nationals from Iran Via Azerbaijani Border Proceeds

Astara: Evacuation efforts for foreign nationals through the Astara Border Customs Checkpoint are actively underway. From 17:00 to 19:00 today, over 100 foreign nationals were successfully evacuated, as reported by APA's southern bureau. The majority of those evacuated include citizens from the Russian Federation, China, and Pakistan.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, more than 70 Russian citizens have already been sent back to their home country through Azerbaijan. The evacuation process continues to progress smoothly, with ongoing efforts to facilitate the safe passage of those affected.

The operation commenced with the evacuation of nearly 15 Russian citizens through the Astara checkpoint, following the necessary procedures. Earlier in the day, after 10:00 a.m., the evacuation process also saw the departure of 10 Azerbaijani, 5 Chinese, 4 Tajik, and nearly 20 Pakistani citizens. Efforts remain in place to ensure the timely and secure evacuation of all foreign nationals seeking to return to their respective countries.
