TURKPA Delegation Participates in Key Coordination Meeting of Turkic Cooperation Organizations in Istanbul

Istanbul: TURKPA delegation led by Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasan took part at the 6th Meeting of the Coordination Committee of the Turkic Cooperation Organizations held at the premises of the OTS Secretariat in Istanbul.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting was chaired by Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev and attended by notable figures including the Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev, President of the International Turkic Academy Prof. Dr. Shahin Mustafayev, President of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Aktoty Raimkulova, Senior Adviser for Economic Affairs of the Turkic Investment Fund Erhan Turbedar, and Secretary General of the Union of Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry Adem Kula.

During the meeting, the heads and representatives of the Turkic Cooperation Organizations delivered presentations and speeches highlighting the main areas of their activities and ongoing initiatives. TURKPA Secretary General emphasized the contribution of TURKPA to the 2026 Action Plan, including hosting an international conference focused on parliamentary diplomacy within the framework of the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress.

Secretary General suggested holding the coordination meetings of TCOs twice a year to ensure better coordination ahead of the Summits of Heads of State. This suggestion was supported by the participants. Hasan also highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation between the OTS and TURKPA, including closer interaction at the expert level, to support the implementation of decisions adopted at the highest level and to align parliamentary processes with the strategic vision of the Heads of State.

The participants engaged in discussions on a number of key issues related to Turkic cooperation, with particular attention given to the implementation of relevant decisions and instructions of the Heads of State adopted at the 12th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States held in Gabala, Azerbaijan. Special emphasis was placed on the organization of joint events within the framework of the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress, highlighting its historical significance.

At the final stage of the meeting, the Action Plan of the Turkic Cooperation Organizations for 2026 was presented. Participants reviewed the proposed activities, exchanged views, and made remarks and proposals aimed at further enhancing coordination and effectiveness. Following the discussions, the Action Plan for 2026 was adopted. The Secretary General was accompanied by his Deputy Talgat Aduov and Secretary of Commission Aynura Abutalibova during the visit.
