Bishkek: On January 16, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, engaged in discussions with the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), Ambassador Ramil Hasan, in Bishkek. The meeting underscored significant parliamentary collaboration and strategic initiatives.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the TURKPA Secretary General extended congratulations to the Speaker on the successful conclusion of the early parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan and on his re-election as Speaker. Ramil Hasan provided insights into TURKPA's recent activities, efforts to enhance cooperation with international parliamentary bodies, and future priorities set for 2026. He emphasized steps taken to increase TURKPA's visibility on global platforms.

The meeting also addressed Uzbekistan's progress towards becoming a full member of TURKPA, the development of cooperative efforts with Hungary, and the reinforcement of relationships with European institutions. Both parties highlighted the significance of upcoming TURKPA events and the informal meetings of parliamentary speakers from member states, planned to coincide with the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Istanbul, Trkiye.

Preparations for the 15th plenary session of TURKPA, scheduled to take place in Kyrgyzstan, were noted as proceeding smoothly. The Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament expressed appreciation for TURKPA's activities and affirmed Kyrgyzstan's commitment to supporting the organization's initiatives.

The Secretary General was accompanied by Deputy Saky Sadykov and Chief of Protocol Yadigar Mammadov during the meeting.
