Two People Injured as Bulldozer Hits Landmine in Khojavend

Baku: A landmine explosion occurred on August 12 near Gizilgaya village in the liberated Khojavend district, according to a joint statement issued by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office, and the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA).

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, a bulldozer driven by Elchin Telman oglu Abbasov, a resident of Gazakh district born in 1961, struck a landmine in an uncleared area. Two passengers in the bulldozer, Sanan Sohrab oglu Farajov, born in 1989, and Fuad Ilgar oglu Ahmadov, born in 2003, both residents of Tovuz district, were injured in the explosion.

The Khojavend District Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the incident.

Following the incident, ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Prosecutor General's Office issued a stern warning to citizens to strictly observe safety rules, heed mine warning signs, and refrain from entering unfamiliar or fenced-off areas.
