Baku: U.S. Charg© d'Affaires in Azerbaijan Amy Carlon has released a video address marking the first anniversary of the agreement reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia in Washington, APA reports. In the address posted on the social media accounts of the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan, the diplomat spoke about the progress achieved over the past year in the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as in U.S.-Azerbaijan relations.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Carlon stated that exactly one year ago, on August 8, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump welcomed Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to a historic peace summit at the White House. The summit resulted in an agreement that laid the foundation for lasting peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia after more than three decades of conflict.

Carlon emphasized that over the past year, the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia have demonstrated their commitment to the spirit of the White House Summit and taken concrete steps toward lasting peace. She highlighted that since August 8, the leaders have maintained an unwavering commitment to the summit's spirit and have been bold in taking steps toward peace.

She noted the emergence of regular contacts between civil societies and the establishment of initial cross-border trade ties over the year. A significant development mentioned was Armenia's regular purchase of fuel from Azerbaijan, showcasing a step toward economic collaboration.

Carlon also mentioned the creation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity, known as the TRIPP project, as a key element of the agreements reached on August 8. This initiative aims to further solidify peace and promote prosperity in the region.
