Baku: 'We share the same view with Azerbaijan regarding Ukraine's territorial integrity,' UK Ambassador to Azerbaijan Duncan Norman said at a press conference today, APA reports. The diplomat emphasized the United Kingdom's steadfast support for Ukraine in the face of Russia's aggressive actions.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ambassador Norman stated that the UK continues to pressure Russia through extensive sanctions, which have inflicted approximately £450 billion in damage to the Russian economy. He remarked that this financial impact is equivalent to two years of funding for what he referred to as Putin's illegal war. The ambassador reiterated the UK's unwavering commitment to a long-term partnership with Ukraine, envisioning a 100-year alliance.

Duncan Norman also expressed his appreciation for Azerbaijan's significant political and humanitarian support for Ukraine, highlighting its critical role in bolstering Ukraine's and Europe's energy resilience. He noted that Azerbaijan's contributions are vital, especially at a time when energy security is of paramount concern. The ambassador also mentioned President Zelenskyy's historic visit to Azerbaijan in April as a testament to the strong ties between the nations.
