Baku: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Lord John Alderdice, the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries, to discuss expanding cooperation across multiple economic sectors, as announced by the Ministry to APA-Economics.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the meeting focused on the expansion of mutual economic and trade relations between the UK and Azerbaijan. It was noted that there is significant potential for strengthening partnerships across various areas. The Trade Envoy received a briefing on Azerbaijan’s effective cooperation with the Central Asian region, and both parties exchanged views on prospects for joint initiatives.

The discussions covered priority areas on the agenda of economic cooperation. These included collaboration with the UK Export Finance (UKEF), the energy transition, human capital development, and investment opportunities in the Alat Free Economic Zone and industrial zones. Additionally, there was a focus on promoting joint activities in business, trade, high technologies, and digital transformation.
