Sheki:Ukrainian children visiting Azerbaijan had the chance to explore Sheki's historic sites as part of a rehabilitation program organized by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population. The program brought 30 children from Ukraine to Azerbaijan for rehabilitation activities, including tours of Gabala, Shamakhi, and Sheki.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the children's visit to Sheki featured a tour of the Yukhari Bash National Historical-Architectural Reserve. Here, they explored the 18th-century Sheki Khan's Palace, a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, which left a strong impression on the visitors.
Group leader Yulia Terezina expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome and care shown to the group during their stay. Yelizaveta Fanaskova, from the Kharkiv region, also shared her appreciation for the hospitality and rehabilitation services provided, remarking on the peaceful and safe environment they experienced.
In addition to the historical sites, the children visited the 'ABAD' Ceramics and Applied Arts Center, where they observed local workshops and shops creating and selling the famous Sheki halva.
Ruhib Rahimov, Director of the Gabala Children's Rehabilitation Center, highlighted the team's efforts to ensure a meaningful stay for the children, which included psychological consultations, group therapy, yoga, dance therapy, massage, pool and bath treatments, art therapy, and other rehabilitation services.
