UN and Azerbaijan Ministry Discuss Framework for Sustainable Development Cooperation

Baku:A meeting took place at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population with Dmitry Shlapachenko, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Minister Anar Aliyev emphasized the importance Azerbaijan places on a strong partnership with the UN. He expressed optimism that Dmitry Shlapachenko would significantly contribute to enhancing this cooperation during his tenure.

Dmitry Shlapachenko expressed satisfaction with the existing collaboration between UN agencies and the Ministry, particularly in supporting social reforms and assisting socially vulnerable groups in Azerbaijan.

The discussions underscored the significance of the Framework Document on Cooperation for Sustainable Development for the years 2026-2030, signed between Azerbaijan's government and the UN. The meeting included an exchange of views on joint efforts in various areas of the ministry's activities, such as human capital development, promoting decent working conditions, and strengthening the social protection system.
